SuloBase / Why Supabase
Why SuloBase is built on Supabase.
Supabase is the open-source Postgres platform a great many new apps start on. Building on it means your developers, their tutorials and their AI tools already know how SuloBase works.
Figures from Supabase's Series F announcement, June 2026.
- Tutorials already made. Supabase's own docs and YouTube channel, and the courses and videos other people have made. What they teach works on SuloBase.
- Libraries for the apps you build. Official clients for JavaScript and TypeScript, Flutter, Swift and Python, with Kotlin, C# and Go from the community.
- AI tools already speak it. App builders such as Lovable wire Supabase in for sign-in, database and storage, and coding agents like Claude Code and Cursor write Supabase code. That code talks to SuloBase once it points at your project.
- Postgres underneath. Your data sits in the open-source database with three decades of development behind it, not in a format only one company can read.
Supabase built the platform
Postgres, sign-in, APIs, file storage, realtime, functions and the Studio dashboard.
SuloBase does the Zambian part
Servers in Lusaka, the Data Protection Act, kwacha and mobile money, isolated projects, and a person in Lusaka who answers.
SuloBase is the only way to keep a modern app's data in Zambia without rewriting it or running servers yourself.
The dashboard is Supabase Studio.
If you have used Supabase, you already know where everything is. These screens are from our Biking demo project.
Create tables and columns without writing SQL. This is the Riders table, a minute after it was made.
We built an app on it first.
Biking is a bike-share demo for Lusaka: twelve docks at their real coordinates, forty bikes, and a wallet charged by the minute. It uses every part of SuloBase, from sign-in to live dock counts.
